Women's hockey announces 2020-2021 recruiting class

EDMONTON, Alta. - The NAIT Ooks Women's Hockey is proud to announce the 2020-2021 recruit class. The group will represent three provinces including Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Comprised of four forwards, three defense, and one goalie.

"We are very proud and excited about this incoming class. Not only are they talented but also great people who can elevate our program and culture," said NAIT head coach Stef Thomson. 

"Each incoming player has displayed various leadership traits with their previous program, which is a very important aspect as to why we recruited them. We are excited for them to join the team and contribute on and off the ice as student-athletes at NAIT."

Tayler Premak

Forward, Redwater, AB. - Sherwood Park Fury Midget Elite

"We are super excited to have Tayler join the program. She is a powerful skater and has a natural ability to put the puck in the net. We are looking forward to her competitive edge on the ice."

Hanna Paquette

Forward, Edmonton, AB. - Okanagan Hockey Academy Prep

"We know that her persistent fore-checking nature is going to help us 5v5 and in penalty kill situations. We are looking forward to having her join our program."

Hannah Prinsen

Defense, Edmonton, AB. - Northern Alberta X-treme Prep

"Hannah is going to be a huge addition to our blueline. She has the ability to control the play and make an impact when she's on the ice."

Maddy Rutz

Defense, Red Deer, AB. - Notre Dame Hounds Midget AAA

"Maddy is a smart and composed defense, who no doubt will help us defensively. We've seen significant improvement from her over the years and are very excited to welcome her to the program."

Payton Basterash

Forward, Edmonton, AB. - Edmonton Pandas Midget AAA

"Payton is a strong and energetic forward who has the ability to set the tone in games and practice. She will be a great addition to our roster."
