Quickly into the second, RDP answered with an unassisted goal from Natalie Buttle to tie the game up. NAIT responded quickly with a goal 34 seconds later by Cass Lyttle. The Ooks retake the lead.

The Queens were applying pressure in the third, but NAIT created a three-on-one with the penalty ending, and Taylor Perpelitz scored to extend the lead to two.
RDP answered by putting on the pressure late in the third, but Kaitlyn Slator stood tall, keeping the two-goal lead. A late penalty by RDP swayed the momentum back to the Ooks. Late in the third, NAIT had a great scoring chance, but RDP goalie Madison Fox came up big with the pad save. Seconds later, the pressure was too much as Brittney Savard tucked one home for her third point and extended the lead to three.
