The NAIT Ooks women’s soccer team is set to compete at the 2018 CCAA National Championship where they will face the MSVU Mystics in Quarter-final action on Wednesday, November 7th at 9:00 am MDT
- EDMONTON – ACAC North Coach of the Year, Carole Holt's NAIT Ooks captured the conference title in Alberta with a thrilling 2-1 over the SAIT Trojans in the ACAC Championship match. The Ooks were a perfect 10-0 in the regular season to finish first in the ACAC North Division. This is their ninth consecutive appearance at the CCAA Championship. They'll face the MSVU Mystics, the ACAA Champions. MSVU defeated the St. Thomas Tommies 3-2 in the ACAA Championship final. The Mystics were 9-2-1 in the regular season and placed second behind St. Thomas (10-0-2) in the ACAA standings.
When asked about the Mystics, Ooks head coach Carole Holt said: "They have some strong attacking players so we will need to stay focused defensively to prevent them from getting behind us." She went on to say, "We hope to continue to build on the simple things we have done so far this year. This will be a very tough tournament to win but we are determined to do our best.
QUICK FACTS: The Ooks women's soccer team ended the regular season 10-0-0 record. In the last eight seasons, NAIT is 74-4-2 in regular season play, outscoring their opponents 424-35 in that time.
