The Concordia Thunder beat the NAIT Ooks in a close game Saturday afternoon at Scottish Edmonton. The final score was 2-1 in favour of the Thunder.
It was a quiet first half until NAIT Ooks Gracie Hausch opening the scoring. A great pass by Ahlam Abubaker put the Ooks on the board just before the half.
It was 1-0 NAIT Ooks at the half.
The Concordia Thunder answered the goal in the 58-minute mark with a beautiful goal by Elizabeth Crothers, assisted by Madison Gamache.
It was a close game on the field, but Concordia out-shot the NAIT Ooks 20-7.
The Concordia Thunder buried a late goal unassisted from Breanna Callander in the 76th minute, and the NAIT Ooks didn't answer.
Both goalkeepers, Kailey Harder from the NAIT Ooks and Monica Dickinson from the Concordia Thunder, came to play this afternoon.
Both teams look forward to their next games as NAIT takes on Lakeland on September 25th, and Concordia has some time to rest before taking on The Kings University Eagles on October 1st.
