The NAIT Ooks women's soccer team kicked off against the Concordia Thunder at the St. Albert Soccer Association on Sunday afternoon. The Thunder won 2-0 over the Ooks.
The first forty-five minutes of the game were intense between the Ooks and the Thunder. The Ooks' offence was solid against the Thunder, but Monica Dickson, the Thunder's keeper, successfully stopped the Ooks in their tracks. The Thunder broke down the Ooks defence and scored against the Ooks keeper, Kailey Harder, at the thirty-seventh minute. The Thunder took a 1-0 lead over the Ooks at the end of the half.
For the last forty-five minutes of the game, the intensity that started in the first continued. The Ooks' offence worked relentlessly to score to tie the; however, the Thunder's defence successfully stopped them at every chance. In the seventieth minute, the Thunder scored their second goal of the match. The Thunder's offence was able to cross the ball from the left side of the field, where number seven, Madison Gamache, made contact with the ball to redirect it into the goal. The game ended with the Thunder winning 2-0 over the Ooks.
The players of the game were number fourteen, Rachel Kraft from the Ooks and number one, Monica Dickson, from the Thunder.
