The NAIT Ooks played the visiting Olds College Broncos in the NAIT Gymnasium on Saturday evening. The Ooks claimed their first win of the season, defeating the Broncos 3-0.
Early in the first set, the Ooks claimed the lead, leaving the Broncos scrambling to gain momentum. To switch the tide, the Broncos called a timeout to regroup and hopefully throw off the Ooks. Following the timeout, Broncos' Tabitha Martin made a great tip. There needed to be more than this tip, with the Ooks having consistent serves, leading the Ooks to win the set 25-6.
The Broncos claimed the lead early in the second set with a killer hit from middle hitter Milan Schapowal. The Ooks quickly came back with Chalijang Both and Kayla Zazula making a solid outside block. The set was close, with the Ooks and Broncos staying neck and neck, with neither letting the other gain a substantial lead. The Ooks were able to break away from the Broncos with the Ooks' strong net presence from kills from Zazula and blocks from Kayla Birkenshaw and Matteae Calihoo. The Ooks won the second set, taking a 2-0 over the Broncos.

The lead changed hands between the Ooks and the Broncos, but ultimately the Ooks were able to take home the win to end the game.
